Brief Program Summary
The Explore LLC is a residential experience which brings together what happens inside the classroom and outside the classroom. Students live on the same floor and take courses with others in their community, while receiving additional programming and support related to exploring their major and career options at FAU. Students participate in extensive self-exploration and examine career opportunities. Tutoring and other support services are provided directly in the residence hall.

Academic Courses Offered In The Community
REQUIRED: "College Success" course (Learning Strategies and Human Development/SLS 1503, 1 credit); Career and Life Planning (SLS 1301, 1 credit) - ENC 1101 (English Composition, 3 credits). Students then select approximately 3 other courses from a list of 8-10 courses.

Summary of Facilities and Facilities Budget Students share a floor in the newest residence hall on campus. There is a floor lounge and general programming space (a multipurpose room and conference room). A "Support Center" on the floor houses satellite offices for Freshman Academic Advising, Career Center advising, tutoring, Writing Center support, etc. Each department pays to provide staffing int he center.

Each Tuesday afternoon, students participate in a "common hour" with various activities ranging from workshops and community service projects to study groups and recreation events!

Greatest Challenges for this Learning Community:
Students who are undecided about their majors are at greater risk and are often less likely to connect to a community just based on "undecided" status. It DOES give them suppport (they arent' the only ones who don't have a major!)
