Brief Program Summary
A program open to incoming Freshman, Pathways is designed to help students get the most out of their experience at Kent State University and beyond. Participants engage in a variety of special activities that build a strong foundation for academic success, a healthy lifestyle and a rewarding career. Highlights of the Pathways program include: Secure Undergraduate Assistantship Specialized programming on academic, career, & wellness Access to personal development & Portfolio software Close contact with University administrators & faculty Completing a physical and fitness assessment Chance to be part of a community focused on succeeding at college and having fun

The Role of Community Partnerships


The Role of Leadership Development
Students have several opportunities for leadership development. One of the main sources of leadership development is offered through the Undergraduate Assistantship piece. Students are also asked to participate in shaping the community through the planning and implementation of community activities. Sophmore students that participated in the program have been asked to return and serve as mentors for the first year students.

The Role of Research


Summary of Assessment Activities
Since we are only a few years old, we are currently developing our own individual assessment tools. We do, however, particpate in the College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ)Research Program.

Summary of Extracurricular Activities Formally Associated with the Program
We have a number of seminars and extracurricular activites that are associated with the program. Several of these activities are planned and implemented by the program coordinator and graduate student; however, additional innitiatives are offered through traditional RA programming and University events.

The Pathways program is open to students in any university college or department.
